JACOBHYNSON

Welcome
to my website.
My name is Jacob Hynson. I am a young filmmaker from Wellington, New Zealand. My goal is to become a film director, to tell stories that are immersive, entertaining, and share meaningful messages.

About Me
I've loved movies ever since I was a kid. At the age of eight, I was making YouTube videos, primarily gaming, which then became short skits during my primary school years. Going into college, I took Media Studies every year and made films, both inside and outside of school. I knew from a very young age that film is what I wanted to do, and it has stuck with me to this day. I believe in the power of storytelling and creativity, and I believe that I have a unique skill set that allows me to reach seemingly outside of my range.

I'm experienced in cinematography, photography, editing, color grading, visual effects, 3D modeling with basic understanding of animation, music theory and composition for soundtracks, all of which I am mostly self-trained, with parts of my knowledge coming from college and film school - Although, I already knew a lot going into these.
